In the past 18 months, I have moved from Maryland to Tennessee to South Carolina. Last week, I had my first client portrait session since the summer of 2015. I must be the luckiest photographer alive that it was such sweet little girl! I am so thankful her mom found me on Instagram. After having to postpone due to the evacuation with Hurricane Matthew, we rescheduled for the most perfect evening. The sunset was gorgeous, the water was warm, and Lucy enjoyed chasing me around on the beach trying to splash me. 😉 I am so thankful to have met both Lucy and Amy. It was a great way to kick off my business here in the Charleston area!
This past spring we visited our family in Laurel, MD. My cousin, Taylor, was my go-to hair and makeup artist when we lived in Maryland, so whenever we visit, we also have something epic planned. This greaser shoot had been on the agenda for a while. My uncle is a mechanic and owns a few vintage cars. We wanted to do something special for both my aunt and uncle including his Chevelle. Not only did it turn out better than I could have hoped for, we got one of the photos printed on metal and my uncle immediately hung it in his garage. I loved being able to turn my kids into vintage greasers and really be creative with the photography. My favorite is the one where I climbed into the backseat and put on my wide angle lens to have them looking back at me.
After way too long not seeing my sister-in-law and her family, we were so excited to visit with this summer. It was a perfect opportunity to do some fun photos with the cousins.
Before having my own children, I never would have thought I could love bringing children’s dreams to reality as much as I do! I realize as an adult, I never really wanted to grow up. I wanted to stay a kid forever. And now when I get to dig into children’s minds, I can live vicariously through them! Who doesn’t want to be a fairy…a pirate…a mermaid…a superhero?! I am so excited to book fantasy sessions for children in the Charleston, SC area!
After quite an eventful 18 months, we are finally settling in our new digs in the Charleston, SC area. Here are some beautiful pics with the amazing Alexis I took in April 2015. The incredible Taylor Hare from Hare Makeup Artistry did the amazing makeup and Stephanie Ann Packet with Stephanie Ann Styles, LLC did the hair. It was cold that day, but we had a lot of fun!
I am so grateful that my daughter is a willing participant in my visions. After I had so much positive success and feedback after my fairy shoot in the fall, I decided to continue. Once my creative juices start flowing, it’s hard to contain them. I could not be happier with the way these photos turned out. I do hope to offer fantasy type shoots for clients in the future. Stay tuned… Hair and makeup was provided by Hare Makeup Artistry. Taylor Hare is an amazing asset and I am so glad she is available to my clients. Be sure to contact me if you would like to book her for your photography session.
Oh…sweet Goddess Athena. We have all been looking forward to your arrival for so long. Your momma even bought gift certificates during a sale in 2013 knowing she would need maternity and newborn sessions in the near future. So happy to finally meet you!
These two little girls stole my heart. They were beyond perfect! Their skin was flawless, which honestly does not happen often with newborns. I could snuggle these girls all day! Love them and LOVE their names!
It’s hard to believe it’s been an entire year since I’ve photographed Diya, especially since I had seen her three times in 2013! Time flies! I was so happy to see how big she has gotten and photograph her with her mom and dad again. This was my first time taking a client to downtown Ellicott City, but this is going to be one of my favorite spots, especially during the colder months when the trees are bare. Main Street has so much to offer! It was busy with the holiday bustle, but it was definitely worth it!
Sweet, sweet Inayah. Maybe I just had incredibly needy babies…because this girl made me question everything I know about newborns. Ha! I do not think I heard one peep out of her during the entire 3 hours I was on location at her house. Seriously…not one. It took a while to get her to sleep, but even when she was awake, she let me pose her, wrap her, and she just laid there looking at me. I probably told her mom and dad twenty times how amazing she was and I had never met a baby like her before. Side note: I am thinking about moving into their home…the natural light was incredible! They won’t mind a new roommate, right?!
