When Ariana (AKA Giffi) contacted me about taking engagement photos and including her sweet pups, Janie and Betty, I was so excited! Since we’ve moved to Charleston, we have made some great friends, including Ariana and John. It has been close to two years since I have taken engagement photos, but working with a great couple made me realize how much I miss it! I always tell my couples to be natural, make each other laugh…those candid moments tend to end up the favorites because it captures their love in an honest way. As always, picking a location for a Charleston photography session is fun because the options seem endless. We decided with the dogs, a more “nature” feel would be the best, so we headed to Daniel Island which has turned into one of my favorite spots for photos. Janie and Betty were great sports and were rewarded with […]
When Ashley, these girls’ sweet mama, contacted me almost in tears after multiple photography session attempts, there was no doubt I was going to fit them in during this fall busy season. She told me she has a 4 year old, 2 1/2 year old, and twin 18 month old girls…I was nervous and excited all at the same time! Super mom would be an understatement!! Not only did she have to get 4 girls ready for their photos in their adorable Well Dressed Wolf outfits, she also drove 2 hours to me! I offered to find a location to cut some of her driving time, but when I told her I have a permit for Boone Hall Plantation, she was immediately sold. And honestly…we couldn’t have had a prettier location with better light for this session! The plantation gives so many options for backdrops, but when I saw these […]
I am still so excited to have had the opportunity to team up with Rainey’s Closet for these luxury mini sessions in Charleston, SC. Unbeknownst to me, one of my clients is a ballerina and surprised me by bringing her point shoes along! Talk about jumping for joy!! Scout is one of those kids that is so fun to be around and incredibly sweet. She’s also a triple threat since she acts, models, and dances! I had her up on her toes a good portion of the shoot…I mean who doesn’t love ballerinas?! We chose Daniel Island as the location for this session as well. It’s such a beautiful area with a variety of looks within walking distance. It has quickly become one of my go-to locations for photography sessions. Cynthia was even admiring how beautiful it was and said she would love to move to DI if they ever […]
When Erica from Rainey’s Closet contacted me in early October about hosting a luxury mini session roadshow in collaboration with her children’s clothing rental boutique, I was jumping out of my skin in excitement. Her shop has so many gorgeous options for children, including Tutu Du Monde, Blu Pony Vintage, Dollcake, Well Dressed Wolf, Joyfolie, and more…you are guaranteed to find something for your children to look incredibly stylish whether it be for a special event…or like in my case, a photography session! What’s more perfect that renting designer threads and not have to worry about shelling out hundreds of dollars on your child’s outfit to wear for an hour? They make it so easy and take the stress out of planning the wardrobe for your special photos! When I announced these exclusive mini sessions, I was so excited when a sweet friend from preschool contacted me about having her […]
It was a beautiful evening for a stroll around Governor’s Park on Daniel Island back in October. I love the paths lined with sea shells and so did the kids! The sunsets have been absolutely gorgeous this fall and it makes my heart squeal with delight to have such pretty light for sessions.
It was so nice to plan a session for the Omer Family again! I cannot believe it’s been 3 years since I took Inayah’s newborn photos! When they came to Charleston for a weekend getaway, I was ecstatic they remembered I moved here and figured it would be a perfect opportunity to update some family photos. Inayah has grown into such a beautiful, fun, and spunky girl. I immediately remembered I had this gorgeous Porcelian Teacup dress stashed in my wardrobe closet and knew it would be perfect for Inayah.
When two hometown friends come to visit…and also recently got engaged, there isn’t many other things to do then head downtown for some engagement photos! I can’t even count the number of years I’ve known Chris (eeekkk…coming up on our 20 year reunion soon man!) He also happens to be one of my hubby’s best friends. Chris and Alex have been dating for years and I could not be happier for the two of them to get engaged and start planning their future together. We had a few fun days in Charleston that got cut short with Hurricane Irma barreling towards us, but we still made the best of it with LOTS of good food and fun! Chicken and waffles, anyone? Fried green tomatoes? Hushpuppies? We have all of that covered here in Charleston. (Part of the reason I’ve gained 10 pounds since moving here…the food is too good!) […]
Who doesn’t love mermaids? And when your daughter wants to be one, you make it happen.
In September 2016, I attended an amazing workshop, the Neverland Retreat, in Lake Tahoe with some of my favorite photographers teaching and attending. It was a once in a lifetime experience and I honestly have to pinch myself because I have built such great friendships from that workshop. One of the instructors, Shelby Robinson, is one of the most creative and inspiring photographers I have ever met. When we had a moment to sit down in Tahoe and grab a quick lunch, we became fast friends and knew we wanted to collaborate on something together. As fate would have it, I recognized a few faces in the airport preparing for my flight home. Madison’s mom and I realized we live 10 minutes away from each other! It wasn’t long before the perfect collaboration came to mind. Madison Kirk, Shelby Robinson, and Ashley Goverman…a day in Charleston, SC. Fast forward […]
